Packer Leather was a finalist for the prestigious 2014 International Tannery of the Year award. Following the anonymous nomination Packer Leather was subjected to an extensive assessment that looked at the company’s innovation, environmental practice, employee welfare, client relationships and community involvement. Packer Leather was selected as one of two Asian finalists by an international panel of judges.

The Leather Working Group was formed to create a protocol to accurately assess the compliance and environmental stewardship practices of tanners and to promote sustainable and responsible environmental business practices within the leather industry. Packer Leather holds SILVER status which requires a high standard of environmental performance in all areas of leather manufacture.
