Salazar Slytherin adalah seorang penyihir darah murni yang terkenal karena kelicikan dan tekadnya dan dianggap sebagai salah satu penyihir terbesar kala itu.
Salazar Slytherin ini merupakan seorang Legilimens dan Parselmouth yang cukup berbakat.
📝 Legilimens: Orang yang dapat mengendalikan pikiran orang lain.
📝 Parselmouth: Orang yang dapat berbicara bahasa ular.
Sehingga siapapun yang bisa Parseltongue dihubungkan dengan Salazar Slytherin.
Konon katanya Slytherin menciptakan tongkatnya sendiri. Wandnya itu terbuat dari Schlangenholz atau Snakewood dengan inti tanduk Basilisk.
Omega kembali mengayunkan wandnya, menampilkan gambar lain kepada para murid.
Salazar mendirikan Sekolah Sihir Hogwarts bersama teman-temannya yaitu Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff dan Rowena Ravenclaw.
Namun setelah bertahun-tahun hubungan mereka pun retak, karena Salazar yang beranggapan bahwa sihir hanya boleh dipelajari oleh para penyihir keturunan darah murni. Oleh karena itu, ia hanya ingin menerima murid-murid berdarah murni saja, namun hal itu ditolak oleh para pendiri lainnya.
Akibat masalah ini, Slytherin dan Gryffindor memiliki argumen yang sengit dan penuh kekerasan. Mereka sempat berduel, selain itu juga terjadi semacam perang saudara antar asrama.
