The founder of the girl scouts, Juliette Gordon Low, included most of her beliefs and values into the girl scouts. These values are outlined through each group's actions
and teachings.

To begin with, both group share and believe in values of individualism and independence. The scouts are taught these values on a daily basis, an instruction that originated from Juliette herself. Throughout her life Juliette showed these individual values in her actions, actions such as, traveling the world, and in becoming captain of sport teams. The scouts then follow these values that they are taught in use them in daily life.

In addition to individualism, both Juliette and the scouts engage in non-typical female expected activities of the time. Following Juliette's role, the scouts are taught to engage in outdoor activities such as hiking, rowing, and other sports, showing there similarity to a young Juliette. The scouts are also encourage to participate in the area of mathematics and science, areas of study not typical of the time that Juliette had shown interest in. Overall this engagement of non-typical female roles by the scouts, portray the same values that Juliette follows.

In the end, the actions both groups partake in show the similarities between them.
