Tyskland overtog Frankrig, Polen, etc. Hitler begik selvmord I April 1945.
Efter 2. Verdenskrig var der flere lande der overtog Tyskland. (Frankrig og de 2 supermagter)
De to supermagter kunne ikke blive enige om hvordan de skulle styre verden, det skabte mange trusler. De lavede begge flere og bedere atomvåben. Men det udviklede sig aldrig til en varm krig.
Sovjetunionen havde diktatur og planøkonomi. USA havde demokrati og liberal (fri) markedsøkonomi.
FN var en forening mellem en masse lande, så krig ikke opstod.
Jerntæppet var det der opdelte Europa I vest og øst. Kommunistisk og demokratisk.
Marshall hjælpen. Ca. 13 mia dollars blev givet væk.
Berlin var delt. Ligeså var Tyskland.
