Ryou climbs into the attic and ties their feet to a beam, lays down, and slits their own throat. The attic is unused and never renovated for the killing game, so a few days later the rotting wood breaks and Ryou falls and remains hung upside down by their feet. They kill themselves as a last resort to divert the group's attention away from tension and bring them together by grief, because they understand grief deeply, being a Gravekeeper and losing both their parents. During the trial, Alexx refuses to believe its a suicide, and throughout the arguments hers is slowly broken down and she has to accept it. Although they had a rivalry, Alexx really cared for Ryou and felt understood by them, and if she hadn't been so prideful, they would have been close. She viciously argues against the belief it's a suicide, because that goes against their morals. Since she can't blame anyone for their death, she's forced to hold them accountable. Alexx could become more mellow, matured the best she can be, and be extremely determined to help everyone live, because that was Ryou's final wish. They leaves a final piece of origami in Alexx's room. And while investigating Ryou's body, they find a key, which is to Alexx's room, because her key went missing a few days before. She opens the door and finds Ryou's hat on her desk, and when she lifts it up, she finds the origami.
