Francis Chua is a fourteen-year-old freshman currently attending Lynbrook High School. He has been playing oboe for almost 4 years with his teacher, YuTing. He received Superior Command Performance ratings from California Music Educators Association (CMEA) Solo and Ensemble Festival (Bay Section and State levels) in both 6th grade and 8th grade for playing oboe and marimba. He played in the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra for 2 years and won the Concerto Competition in 2016 on marimba. He Sinfonietta. He was the principal oboe in Symphonic Band for California All-State Music Education Conference in 2018.

Francis is currently a 7th grader at Joaquin Miller Middle School in San Jose, and a member of the school's Advanced Band. He has been playing percussion for two years and the oboe for almost two years. This is his 2nd year with the Associate Orchestra of CPYO. Francis received Command Performance ratings for both his oboe and marimba performance at the California Music Educators Association (CMEA) Solo and Ensemble Festival (Bay Section), and Gold Command Performance ratings for both performances at the California State CMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival in Sacramento in 2016.

Harry Smith is a fourteen-year-old freshman at Gunn High School. He began piano lessons at age four, and has been studying piano with Ms. Sally Fields since he moved to the Bay Area in sixth grade. He has won numerous piano competitions including first prize at The US Open Piano Competition. He debuted with The Danbury Symphony Orchestra in Connecticut at age ten. He is a high honors student, and he is a member of the Study of Exceptional Talent at John Hopkins University. Harry is also a member of his school's freshman basketball team and coaches basketball at the Palo Alto YMCA. In addition to music, Harry loves reading, comics, and playing basketball.
