☆. Xylomancy.
→ Xylomancy adalah ramalan yang menggunakan ranting, potongan kayu, atau pun cabang pohong yang jatuh. Berasal dari bahasa Yunani 'Xylo' yang berarti 'Kayu' dan 'Manteia' yang berarti 'Ramalan'.
→ Metode ini dilakukan sejak zaman kuno di Slavonia. Pertanda dari posisi potongan kecil dari kayu-kayu kering yang ditemukan di jalan seseorang.
→ Pada zaman Alkitab, para peramal akan melihat pola-pola yang terbentuk oleh dahan pohon tumbang atau potongan kayu lainnya yang tergeletak di tanah. Jika terjatuh secara tiba-tiba, sebuah kejutan akan terjadi.
→ Awalnya, cabang yang jatuh secara alami dianggap cukup signifikan. Dalam sistem bentuk Xylomancy, ranting-ranting dikupas setengah dari kulit kayu mereka dan dilempar ke tanah sehingga membentuk pola acak.
→ Bentuk lain dari ramalan yang terkait, ada Dendromancy dan Tephramancy. Setiap jenis ramalan pohon memiliki asal-usul dalam praktek primitif ibadah pohon, bentuk awal dari agama.
