Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American singer, musician, and actor. Regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century, he is often referred to as "the King of Rock and Roll", or simply, "the King". Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Presley and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee, when he was 13 years old.In November 1956, he made his film debut in Love Me Tender.In 1973, Presley was featured in the first globally broadcast concert via satellite, Aloha from Hawaii. Several years of prescription drug abuse severely deteriorated his health, and he died in 1977 at the age of 42.Presley's first RCA single, "Heartbreak Hotel", released in January 1956, was a number-one hit in the US. He became the leading figure of rock and roll after a series of network television appearances and chart-topping records. His energized interpretations of songs and sexually provocative performance style, combined with a singularly potent mix of influences across color lines that coincided with the dawn of the Civil Rights Movement, made him enormously popular and controversial.

Although Elvis's middle name on his birth certificate was 'Aron', his grave has it as 'Aaron', which was his own preferred spelling. Elvis' famous black hair was dyed - his natural color was brown.Elvis purchased his first guitar when he was just 11 years old. He wanted a rifle, but his mama convinced him to get a guitar instead. At 18, Elvis paid $4 to make his first record, a gift for his mama.Elvis’s Wedding- Elvis and Priscilla met in Germany while he was in the service. They fell in love when she was 14 and were married when she was 18 years old. Elvis and Priscilla married in May 1, 1967 at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. The wedding was kept a secret until the last minute it possible could. Elvis paid fifteen dollars for a marriage license. Elvis was dressed in black and Priscilla wore white chiffon and a satin six-foot train. Her ring had a three-carat diamond and twenty smaller ones. Afterward the reception was held that featured a five-foot cake, breakfast for a hundred, and a strolling string trio. After the press conference, the newlyweds left for their four-day honeymoon in Palm Springs.
