ing: 6 coricidin tablets and no bottle or strength or confirmation that it was coricidin at 8 AM for stomach upset
product: used to abuse DXM, but student told him to take it for stomach upset, no PMH of suicidal ideation, and not admitting to this now.
disp: vomited multiple times, presented about 11:45 PM PMH: none and no labs back
Products: potentially DXM, APAP, Chlorpheniramine, guaifenesin
rec: should do ok with this dose, ordering labs for APAP. CMP, ASA, EKG with AMS, antiemetics should be ok. DXM – concern for opiate effects, Narcan can be given as needed, order UDS. Benzo’s prn for change in amount or if tremors, seizures, sustained HTN or tachycardia. If labs are ok, observation time is until medically stable (4-6 hours), so 2-4 hours from here on out. If detectable APAP, under 150 would be non-toxic, make sure LFTs are WNL.
