- Survival berasal dari kata survive yang berarti mampu mempertahankan diri dari keadaan tertentu, dalam hal ini yaitu mampu bertahan dalam keadaan yang buruk dan kritis.
- survival adalah sebuah tindakan untuk bertahan hidup.
- arti sempit survival berkaitan dengan keadaan-keadaan darurat yang terjadi karena terisolasinya seseorang atau sekelompok orang (disebut sebagai SURVIVOR) akibat suatu musibah atau kecelakaan
- Mengapa kita harus survive? Jawabannya adalah karena kita menghadapi kesulitan.
- Keadaan menghadapi kesulitan, diantaranya:
Keadaan alam ( Cuaca dan Medan )
Keadaan makhluk hidup disekitar kita ( Binatan dan Tumbuhan )
Keadaan diri sendiri ( Mental, Fisik dan Kesehatan ), kesulitan-kesulitan yang timbul karena diri kita sendiri.
