البلوك تشين يعتمد على خوارزميات تسمى بخوارزمية الإجماع consensus
من أجل اعتماد اي بيانات لإضافتها على البلوك تشين، أي لابد من وجود إجماع من قبل عدد معين من الأطراف لإضافة البيانات، وهذي من خصائص البلوك تشين الاساسية، وهذا شرح بشكل مختصر
البلوك تشين له نوعين أساسية
Public عام
Private خاص
العام مثل العملات المعروفة البتكوين و الاثيروم Ethereum
الخاص اشهر مثال عليها بلوك تشين خاص بIBM يسمى Hyperledger Fabric
البلوك تشين العام يتطلب خورزميات فيها "مكافئة" من أجل تحفيز الناس على توثيق البيانات و إضافتها للبلوك تشين، اي لابد من دفع قيمة معينة في حال أردت استخدام اي تطبيق على بلوك تشين العام
الخاص يستخدم خوارزميات ليس فيها مكافئة بل يعتمد على أنواع اخرى لا تتطلب دفع أي شيء عموما، ولهذا تكون غالبا أسرع من العام لكن على حساب اشياء اخرى
من أهم تطبيقات البلوك تشين، حالات وجود طرف ثالث لتوثيق، فممكن في هذه الحالة الأستغناء عن الطرف الثالث و يكون هناك "ثقة" بين الأطراف على البلوك تشين
مثلا عندك تطبيق محل لبيع المنتجات، فبالطريقة التقليدية بدون البلوك تشين ، تحتاج لبنك من أجل أتاحة خاصية الشراء بالبطاقة لزبائن و توثيق العمليات على التطبيق، لكن بالبلوك تشين تكون عملية الدفع "مضمنة" ولا تحتاج في هذه الحالة لبنك ولا لدفع رسوم اشتراك
و التوثيق يكون آلي
