One issue i understand about children and the outdoors is that being indoors too much causes a weaker immune system. "There is evidence that keeping children indoors gives them weaker immune systems." this tells us that due to a lack of outdoor activity the health levels will decrease causing a decrease in the health of the immune system that will weaken just because too much time is being spent behind windows rather than in the "great outdoors" which is obviously proven to be healthier, having no effect on your immune system.

Another issue that faces children and the outdoors is the safety there is now which wasn't such a worry in the past. "The creep of urban sprawl had destroyed many places where children could once play safely." This informs us there isn't as much safety or protection and is more danger than there was outdoors previously. This could be a proven issue as to why the lack of activity outdoors is such an issue right now and things may not be as child proof as it used too be which has proved to be a issue to activity outdoors for young people.

Another issue understood about the issues of children and the outdoors is the parenting or upbringing of children. "the cloistered upbringing of many children could be harmful." This could be a big effect on the process of more children going outside, as parents raise their children to have a indoor based childhood instead of expiriencing the outdoors will cause for a lack of activity outside leading to an effect on their health, which could be down to the child's parents, because of the lack of activity they may have experienced outdoors as a child growing up, which can be a major issue.

One other issue about children and outdoors understood is also how they are taught at school. "change the way they teach children, with a block of time spent in the outdoors every week." A large time of someones childhood is spent in school, and for teachers who don't have any sort of influence of activity outdoors or inspiring them to become more adventorous outdoors could eventually have an effect on them, the likelihood is a shown passion for outdoor activity shown by teachers advising it will most likely influence and inspire them to go outdoors more which will change their attitude towards it and outdoor activity will increase for young people, especially if lessons are more outdoor based rather than classroom based which will prove to be less of an issue.


2. One way that the headline is effective is the use of a clever pun. "Forget the x factor… Mongolias got talons." The play on words of "talons" instead of the word talent adds a humorous and clever side to the article, making the reader imagine he is someone who is smart with their puns, its effective also because of its link to the popular tv show Britians got talent which will add more interest into the article and the reader will know straight away its a reference.

The headline links to the text by basically summing up the article in one sentence as the text will reflect what the headline is saying and will include a reference. "The huge birds, which can have a wingspan of more than 2.5m and claw-like talons" the sentence has an obvious reference to the headline, also promoting what the headline has just said, linking as to why it is significantly talented which grabs the readers attention.

The picture is very effective in the way it tells you what the headline is saying perfectly by one visual, and will tell the reader exactly why this is a significant talent as they can see by the photo.
