10 Things Competitors Teach You About Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet
The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

If you have carpet with a high or low pile There's a robot vacuum for you. These smart appliances automatically navigate through your home, pick up debris and even clean under furniture.

Many have advanced features like mapping, which allows them to navigate your home and remember furniture placement. They can also boost suction power to tackle dirtier areas.

iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba by iRobot is a budget-friendly robot vacuum that performs well on both plain flooring and carpets with low pile. It has good suction however it has trouble with larger debris such as sand or grains of rice. It is effective in cleaning pet hair, but it isn't as strong against tangling as premium Roomba models like the I6 and j7.

The Roomba is easy to operate. It has three buttons on the top cover. "Clean," which initiates a cleaning session and 'Dock' that puts it in its charging station and the 'Spot' button, which triggers an individualized cleaning. It is controlled by an app for smartphones which lets you program or stop/start cycles as well as alter settings. You can also connect it with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum cleaner is slower than some others, but can still be able to reach the majority of corners and crevices. It has a huge dust bin that is ideal for reducing the frequency the frequency you have to empty it. It is compatible with digital maps and virtual barriers that let you restrict it to certain areas or even stop cleaning completely when you want to stop it from getting stuck on something.

It's not the most effective for its price, however it's better than the majority of other options. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694, with superior cleaning efficiency on carpets with low and no pile. It also has a more durable battery and a cleaner route. It also feels better-made and has fewer parts that need regular maintenance, is less expensive to own over its lifetime and charges more quickly than the 694.

You may also want to consider other models from the iRobot range, including the v7 or the 981. The 981 and v7 are both more expensive, but provide significant improvement in cleaning efficiency, both on bare and low pile floors. They also have a bigger dirt compartment they charge faster, can move more easily, and are more a breeze to pair with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robot does an okay job on hard floors and low-pile carpet. Its combination brush gets into corners and edges and it automatically increases suction when it spots carpet. It also does an excellent job of cleaning dirt off mid-pile carpet. The IQ has a small footprint and a self-emptying function. However, if you want to change the floor levels on the map, or set no-go zones, you'll have manually reset it to do so, which is somewhat of a hassle.

The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation capabilities however it doesn't have no-go zones that are available on iRobot models. Its intelligent-pathing navigational system results in greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet cleaning mode cleans well, but it tends to get caught up in rug tassels, and its iHome speaker allows you to operate the robot by voice commands.

During our tests during our tests, the IQ was adept at handling pet hair with ease, removing an impressive amount of debris from bare floors and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less efficient with shag carpets. irobot vacuum and mop had a hard time reaching dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It did a decent job of navigating chair legs and tight spaces as well as the wooden base of an IKEA step stool. It was a bit slower on bare flooring, but it recovered speed and performed better than other robots we have test.

The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dustbin, a longer battery life, and is better in navigating around obstacles. It also comes with mopping attachments that can tackle sticky messes. On the other side the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance, incurs lower recurring costs and creates virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It is able to even resume cleaning from where it left off if it has run out of battery before it has completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled with voice commands, which is an enormous benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum isn't one of the most feature-rich models, but it does offer excellent cleaning power for an affordable price. The RoboVac 11S is designed for budget-conscious consumers who do not require a complicated mapping system, or an app, to control it. The robot is capable of running for a long time and comes with a remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base, and additional filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek with a tempered glass upper deck that covers plastic finished to appear like brushed aluminum. It's a nice stylistic departure from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more practical and industrial.

In our tests, the eufy 11S was excellent at picking up larger particles and fine dust on hard floors. However, it struggled to give high and medium pile carpets an effective deep clean. The device has a tendency to bump into furniture and people in its route. However, it is able to detect obstacles using sensors. When it comes across them, it halts and emits a loud sound so you can manually steer it around the obstacle and get back to work.

The BoostIQ mode is another great feature of the eufy11S. It lets you configure the robot to automatically adjust the suction strength based on the floor type and the level of mess. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S in the direction you'd like it to go.

If you don't have a lot of furniture in the space where you want to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy will spend 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned to.

You can also opt for Edge Cleaning which reduces the amount of time spent in each area to 20 minutes to ensure optimal battery life. With this option the eufy moves in a spiral fashion taking care of edges and corners for an efficient clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a top mid-priced vacuum cleaner that performs well on carpet. Its performance on bare floors is also outstanding. It can pick up small particles like rice with ease and it doesn't suffer from suction efficiency even as its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed design and allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens to keep your family safe. It uses an onboard HEPA filter and self-emptying dustbin, so you don't need additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.

It's not quite as powerful as the more expensive models, but it's great for deep cleaning and taking on the toughest stains. It comes with two cameras in front that deliver live feeds to your smartphone. It also comes with one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It also has a big dustbin, a long runtime, and a fast, bump-free clean-up.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots in that it is able to switch between two heads, a standard and a turbo to suit different types of flooring. The turbo head is best with high-pile or low-pile carpeting, while the standard powerhead is good for floors with no flooring and light carpets. It also comes with an automatic height adjustment system that allows it to adapt to different types of flooring without manual adjustments.

This model comes with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on carpets with a hard surface and carpets with a medium pile. The powerhead is also easy to move and can be used to reach difficult areas. It comes with five different adjustments to the surface and an off-brush switch to avoid tangled hairs.

The Classic C1 has a self cleaning brush roll as well as it has a UtraClean Mode that can clean the same area up to three times, and a self emptying dustbin that you can empty by pressing a single button. The volume of noise produced by this model is greater than other models. However its powerful motor with 1,200 watts and durable construction are worth the extra cost.

If you're willing to pay some extra money then the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is a great all-around robot vacuum. It performs better on carpets than the Classic C1. It is better suited for all kinds of floors and is built more securely, and comes with an HEPA filter.
