Neve Paritzki Israel is celebrating record-breaking tourism entry From the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- In July and August 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of tourist arrivals from America. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% higher than in the year 2019.

"It is so thrilling to see yet another increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019," stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our most popular destination for tourism to Israel, and before the outbreak of COVID-19, we were celebrating record-breaking numbers of tourism entries each month. We're extremely pleased to witness such a positive shift and we anticipate an upward trajectory for years and months to come."

Canada is not far from the United States of America, is on track for surpassing the number of tourists visiting Israel. It had 7,200 visitors in July 2022 as well as 6,000 visitors in August.

"It is exciting to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is booming," said Gal Hana, Consul and Director for Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We aren't too far from our record-setting numbers in 2019 and we anticipate that this growth in the number of travelers to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians continue to feel more at ease traveling internationally."

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 were from the United States. The country's officially reopening to travelers in May saw more than 600,000.
