● Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them adalah buku yg ditulis oleh Newt Scamender berisi tentang sejarah Magizoologi dan mengambarkan spesies satwa gaib yang dapat ditemukan di seluruh dunia. Kakek Scamander telah mengumpulkan banyak informasi yang berada di dalam buku ini dan itu adalah hasil perjalanan panjang beliau selama bertahun-tahun di lima benua.
● Tadinya buku ini hanya ada di dunia sihir, namun saat ini, sudah banyak kaum muggle telah memiliki buku-buki ini.
● Kakek Albus Dumbledore, mantan kepala sekolah Hogwarts, mengatakan pada kaum Muggle, seperti ini:
"....makhluk-makhluk ajaib yang menakjubkan yang ada disini adalah rekaan semata-mata dan tidak akan melukai kamu.."
● Kepada golongan penyihir pula beliau berkata, "Draco dormiens Nunquam titillandus", yang sebenarnya adalah motto Hogwarts.
● Buku ini adalah buku teks yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa tahun pertama di Hogwarts, yang telah berlaku sejak edisi pertama. Namun, tidak dapat dijelaskan mengapa siswa tahun pertama membutuhkan buku ini karena mereka hanya menggunakan buku ini pada tahun ketiga mereka yaitu saat ada subjek Pemeliharaan Satwa Gaib. Mungkin juga buku ini digunakan sebagai ensiklopedia untuk subjek PTIH.
● Albus Dumbledore juga menyatakan bahwa buku ini sangat berguna untuk penggunaan seharian selain untuk belajar di Hogwarts.

● Di hal 2 bagian Acromantula, buku ini menyatakan "Rumours that a colony of Acromantula has been established in Scotland are unconfirmed."
Sebenarnya Harry & Ron prnh bertemu dg koloni tersebut saat mereka berada di tahun ke2 di Hutan Terlarang. Di dalam buku ini versi Harry, "unconfirmed".
● Di hal 4 bagian Basilisk, buku ini menyatakan "there have been no recorded Sightings of Basilisks in Britain for at least four hundred years."
