The ECL luminophore is one of the most significant components during the light generation processes. Despite significant progress that has been made in the synthesis of new luminophores and their roles in resolving various challenges, there are few comprehensive summaries on ECL luminophores. In this review, we discuss some of the recent advances in organic, metal complexes, nanomaterials, metal oxides, and near-infrared ECL luminophores. We also emphasize their roles in tackling various challenges with illustrative examples that have been reported in the last few years. Finally, perspective and some unresolved challenges in ECL that can potentially be addressed by introducing new luminophores have also been discussed. Graphical abstract.The characteristics of the tumor immune microenvironment remains unclear in liposarcomas, and here we aimed to determine the prognostic impact of the tumor immune microenvironment across separate liposarcomas subtypes. A total of 70 liposarcoma patients with three subtypes myxoid liposarcoma (n = 45), dedifferentiated liposarcoma (n = 17), and pleomorphic liposarcoma (n = 8) were enrolled. The presence of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (CD4+ , CD8+ , FOXP3+ lymphocytes) and CD163+ macrophages and expression of HLA class I and PD-L1 were assessed by immunohistochemistry in the diagnostic samples; overall survival and progression-free survival were estimated from outcome data. For infiltrating lymphocytes and macrophages, dedifferentiated liposarcoma and pleomorphic liposarcoma patients had a significantly higher number than myxoid liposarcoma patients. While myxoid liposarcoma patients with a high number of macrophages were associated with worse overall and progression-free survival, dedifferentiated liposarcoma patients with high macrophage numbers showed a trend toward favorable prognosis. Expression of HLA class I was negative in 35 of 45 (77.8%) myxoid liposarcoma tumors, whereas all dedifferentiated liposarcoma and pleomorphic liposarcoma tumors expressed HLA class I. The subset of myxoid liposarcoma patients with high HLA class I expression had significantly poor overall and progression-free survival, while dedifferentiated liposarcoma patients with high HLA class I expression tended to have favorable outcomes. Only four of 17 (23.5%) dedifferentiated liposarcomas, two of eight (25%) pleomorphic liposarcomas, and no myxoid liposarcoma tumors expressed PD-L1. Our results demonstrate the unique immune microenvironment of myxoid liposarcomas compared to other subtypes of liposarcomas, suggesting that the approach for immunotherapy in liposarcomas should be based on subtype.The profiles of total fatty acids (TFAs) and the neutral lipid fatty acids (NLFAs) were compared for the bacterium Rhodopirellula rubra and the alga Raphidocelis subcapitata (conventional food source for Daphnia magna). D. magna NLFAs were assessed when this crustacean was fed with bacterium and alga, individually or in combination. After NLFA extraction, the profiles of the various organisms were characterized by gas chromatography. Results evidenced the relevance of the different composition of the fatty acid (FAs) fractions in the different organisms, R. rubra and R. subcapitata. Nitrogen usually limits productivity in this ecosystem as the main nutrient factor. Biological nitrogen fixation by diazotrophs in the rhizosphere sediment can introduce "new" nitrogen into the ecosystem. Previous studies revealed that most sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) can also fix nitrogen like the nitrogen-fixing bacteria (NFB). Moreover, both sulfate reduction and nitrogen fixation were affected by the organic pollutant. However, rare information is available regarding the NFB and SRB community composition and their temporal response to the pollutant. The quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and polymerase chain reaction denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis have been used to analyze NFB and SRB communities' shifts under different PAHs concentrations. They both experienced a dramatic shift under PAHs stress but exhibited different patterns. SRB could use the low and high concentration PAHs at the early stage of the incubation, while only the low concentration of PAHs could stimulate the growth of NFB through the whole incubation period. The predominant species of NFB communities were Alphaproteobacteria, Gammaproteobacteria, and Deltaproteobacteria; while for SRB communities were class Epsilonproteobacteria. Redundancy analysis indicated the significant environmental factors for the two communities were both ammonium and pH (P  less then  0.05). There existed nifH sequences related to known nitrogen fixing SRB Desulfatibacillum alkenivorans, which confirmed that microbial N2 fixation and sulfate reduction were coupled in the seagrass ecosystem by molecular technique. Our investigation provides new insight into the NFB and SRB community in the seagrass meadow.
The Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) remnant has been pointed out as a ligamentization enhancer. This study intends to compare the clinical results and knee stability of functional vs. nonfunctional remnant preservation ACL reconstruction (ACLR).

One hundred and seventy-five patients with ACL injuries were included and underwent remnant preservation ACLR. They were divided into two groups accordingly to remnant tissue functionality functional (Group F) and nonfunctional (Group NF). Primary outcome was defined as patient reported outcomes measured with Lysholm, IKDC and Tegner continuous scales and improvements. We aimed to develop and validate a new MRI-based perineal membrane reconstruction and morphological measurement technique, and test its feasibility on nulliparous and parous women to determine the effects of pregnancy and childbirth on the perineal membrane.

The perineal membrane was traced on high-resolution MRI using 3D Slicer® and analyses performed using Rhinoceros 6.0 SR23®. Validation was done by comparing MRI-based perineal membrane reconstruction to dissection measurements in a cadaver. Feasibility of reconstruction was assessed in the following three groups nulliparous (NP), primiparous women who underwent cesarean delivery (CD), and primiparous women with vaginal delivery (VD). The following parameters were measured (1) swinging door angle, (2) bony and (3) soft tissue attachment lengths, (4) separation at perineal body level, (5) surface area, and (6) hiatal area. ANOVA and post-hoc comparisons were performed, and the effect sizes (d) were reported.

Model reconstruction was similar to cadaver dissection findings. Morphological measurements were feasible in all women (NP, n= 10; CS, n= 6; VD, n= 19). Swinging door angle was 13
greater in CD (p = 0.03; d = 1.15) and 16
greater in VD (p < 0.001; d = 1.41) compared to NP. VD showed 13% larger separation at the perineal body than NP (p = 0.097, d = 0.84) and 23% larger hiatal area than CD (p = 0.14, d = 0.94).

This novel and anatomically validated MRI-based perineal membrane reconstruction technique is feasible. Preliminary findings show that pregnancy and childbirth both influence perineal membrane morphology with VD being associated with the largest swinging door angle and perineal body separation.

Preoperative anemia is a well-established risk factor for adverse perioperative outcomes in major surgery, but studies exploring complications after pelvic reconstructive surgery are limited. The objective of this study is to examine the impact of preoperative anemia on 30-day adverse outcomes in patients undergoing pelvic organ prolapse surgery.

A retrospective cohort of women undergoing pelvic organ prolapse surgery was captured from the National Surgery Quality Improvement Program database (2014-2019). The primary outcome was a composite of postoperative medical complications such as pulmonary embolism, acute renal failure, stroke, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, deep vein thrombosis, and sepsis. Secondary outcomes included surgical site infection, bleeding requiring blood transfusion, readmission within 7days of surgery, and return to the operating room within 30days. Multivariate logistic regression was used to adjust for important pre-specified potential confounders.

A total of 50,848 women were included in the analysis and 9.9% (4,579) met the criteria for anemia (hematocrit <36%). Potentially serious medical complications were rare, occurring in only 348 women (0.7%), and were more common among anemic patients (1.1% vs 0.6%, p < 0.001). On multivariate analysis, preoperative anemia was associated with higher odds of both potentially serious medical complications (OR 1.38, 95% CI 1.01-1.88) and returning to the operating room (OR 1.55, 95% CI 1.23-1.94). Anemic patients had a four-fold increase in the odds of requiring a blood transfusion (OR 4.47, 95% CI 3.60-5.56).
