The COVID-19 crisis has drastically changed care delivery with teleconsultation platforms experiencing substantial spikes in demand, helping patients and care providers avoid infections and maintain health care services. Beyond the current pandemic, teleconsultation is considered a significant opportunity to address persistent health system challenges, including accessibility, continuity, and cost of care, while ensuring quality.

This study aims at identifying the determinants of patients' intention to continue using a teleconsultation platform. It extends prior research on information technology use continuance intention and teleconsultation services.

Data was collected in November 2018 and May 2019 with Canadian patients who had access to a teleconsultation platform. Measures included patients' intention to continue their use; teleconsultation usefulness; teleconsultation quality; patients' trust toward the digital platform, its provider. and health care professionals; and confirmation of patients' exit represents a significant lever for an improved, digital delivery of health care in the future. We believe that our findings will help drive long-term teleconsultation adoption and use, including in the aftermath of the current COVID-19 crisis, so that general care improvement and greater preparedness for exceptional situations can be achieved.

COVID-19 has posed a global threat due to substantial morbidity and mortality, and health education strategies need to be adjusted accordingly to prevent a possible epidemic rebound.

This study aimed to evaluate the perceptions of COVID-19 among individuals coming to, returning to, or living in Jiangsu Province, China, and determine the impact of the pandemic on the perceptions of the public.

In this study, an online questionnaire was distributed to participants between February 15 and April 21, 2020. The questionnaire comprised items on personal information (eg, sex, age, educational level, and occupation); protection knowledge, skills, and behaviors related to COVID-19; access to COVID-19-related information; and current information needs. Factors influencing the knowledge score, skill score, behavior score, and total score for COVID-19 were evaluated using univariate and multivariate analyses. The time-varying reproduction number (R
) and its 95% credible interval were calculated and compared with tskills and were able to avoid risky behaviors. Thus, it is necessary to apply different health education measures tailored to work and study resumption for specific populations to improve their self-protection and, ultimately, to prevent a possible rebound of COVID-19.
A high proportion of the participants had sufficient COVID-19 protection knowledge and skills and were able to avoid risky behaviors. Thus, it is necessary to apply different health education measures tailored to work and study resumption for specific populations to improve their self-protection and, ultimately, to prevent a possible rebound of COVID-19.The reliance of fossil fuel for industrial and energy sectors has resulted in its depletion. Therefore, enormous efforts have been considered to move-out from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources based industrial process developments. Recently, biohydrogen (bio-H2) has been recognised as a clean source of fuel with high-energy efficiency, which can be produced via different routes. Among them, biological fermentation processes are highly recommended due to eco-friendly and economically viable approaches compared to that of thermochemical processes. However, the low H2 yield and high production cost are major bottlenecks for commercial scale operations. Thus, this review proposed an integrated microalgae-based H2 production process, which will provides a possible route for commercialization in near future. Furthermore, process integration to improve efficiency and implementation of advanced strategies for the enhancement of bio-H2 production, economic viability, and future research needs are discussed. This study examined the feasibility of dark fermentative biohydrogen production from food waste using hybrid immobilization in mesophilic condition. Among four different organic loading rates (OLRs), the highest average hydrogen production rate (HPR) of 9.82 ± 0.30 L/L-d was found at an OLR of 74.7 g hexose/L-d, which was higher than reported values from particulate feedstock in mesophilic condition. The average hydrogen yield (HY) at the condition was 1.25 ± 0.04 mol H2/mol hexoseconsumed. Whereas the average HPR and HY at an OLR 80 g hexose/L-d were 5.82 ± 0.12 L/L-d and 0.64 ± 0.02 mol H2/mol hexoseconsumed, respectively. Metabolic flux analysis showed the low HY was concurrent with the highest propionic acid and homoacetogenis. Bacterial population was shift from Clostridium sp. to non-hydrogen producers including Bifidobacterium, Bacteriodes, Olsenella, Dysgonomonas, and Dialister sp.In this study, different biochar (based on different pyrolytic temperatures and iron dosage) were prepared, characterized and used as individual additives for promoting acid orange 7 (AO7) anaerobic digestion. After X-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR) characterization, 600 °C was proved to be the preferred temperature. Subsequently, biochar pyrolyzed at 600 °C with different iron dosage were added into five anaerobic reactors. Results showed that COD removal efficiency reached the maximum value (88.5%) with the presence of 600-1 biochar, which was 19.0% higher than control reactor (without biochar added). GSK-LSD1 solubility dmso Further analysis indicated that more functional groups were found in 600-1 biochar could effectively improve the electron accepting capacities (EAC) and electron donating capacities (EDC). Combined with the enrichment of exoelectrogens related to syntrophic metabolism, it can be concluded that the addition of biochar could effectively improve the electron transfer efficiency which would be beneficial for AO7 removal.
