Article content AMSTERDAM-Europol, the European police coordination agency, announced on Wednesday that the servers and domains belonging to DoubleVPN which is a network that was used to hide criminals' identities during cyberattacks, were seized by police officers in Europe as well as the United States, and Canada.
The website of the company on Wednesday contained a notice from law enforcement officials that they had taken the domain, as well as the information that DoubleVPN kept about its customers.

Europol announced in a statement that customers were given access to a virtual private network (VPN) for just $25. This allowed hackers to conceal their true identity while they used networks across the world.
It said that DoubleVPN was prominently advertised on both Russian and English-speaking underground cybercrime forum forums to conceal the identity and location of ransomware users and other fraudsters who use phishing. (Reporting by Toby Sterling, Editing by Kevin Liffey
