Avanos Medical and the FDA have issued a Class 1 recall for approximately 629 units of the CORTRAK*2 Enteral Access System, a feeding tube placement device that is responsible for dozens of deaths and injuries.

Incorrect placement of nasogastric as well as Nasoenteric tubes has been the source of more than 60 injuries and 23 deaths in the last year.
