WRUP: Come On, Man, It Is The '90s
Every week, simply at first of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW Insider staff and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" -- otherwise known as: WRUP. Be part of us to see what we're up to in and out of recreation, and catch us within the comments to tell us what you're taking part in, too!

Going to BlizzCon? No? Why not? It's the '90s! Everyone's going to conventions as of late!

Sure, it is in Southern California, and for many of you, that's a great distance from home. But man, this is the '90s. They have planes now. And some of these planes even have air phones. You can hook up your 14.4k modem to one of those and hook up with your favorite Warcraft 2 BBS, perhaps play somewhat Legend of the Pink Dragon from 20,000 feet. Why not? It is the '90s!

What's that? You say it's not the '90s -- it is 2011? Effectively, after all it is! I know precisely what at present is. See this Casio digital watch on my wrist? It has the day, week, month, and year on it. Everyone's acquired one -- everyone, that is, who's dwelling within the '90s.

BlizzCon, the most popular occasion of the '90s, is developing in a mere two weeks. So at this time, in addition to the usual query of "What are you playing?" (Tremendous Nintendo and Scattergories, obvi), I had our prime-notch writers (a lot of whom have Tripod pages) reply a bonus query: "What terrific recommendation do you've got for the go-go BlizzCon attending people of the '90s?"

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) This weekend will probably be spent finishing my entry for the worldwide Writing Contest -- in different phrases, writing like a madwoman.

As for BlizzCon -- make sure you have got loads of water along, the convention hall is larger than it looks! Show up for panels early, test the events schedule and figure out what you want to hit in advance. Also -- comfy footwear. Critically, you'll be in your feet just about all day long. Comfy sneakers are one of the best!

Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) I'll be going to a different wedding ceremony this weekend but will in any other case be on the PTR getting notes for an upcoming Shifting on tanking and healing the three new 5-mans.

As for BlizzCon, I've but to go, but when I had to guess from past experiences with tutorial conferences and the like, have just one bit of advice: Don't wear heels.

Alex Ziebart (@AlexZiebart) (gplus.to/alexziebart) Been enjoying some Useless Island and hopefully will get a hefty amount of co-op time in with a buddy of mine. Good coop video games are way more rare than they ought to be.

For BlizzCon, take more shirts than you think you may want. For those who get super-sweaty, stop into your resort room and change shirts. It is better than being smelly and uncomfortable all day.

Chase Hasbrouck First WRUP /yay. Persevering with my feral soloing in challenge in WoW (when Kuwaiti latency allows), else enjoying SpaceChem on Steam. All the fun of programming with out the code!

BlizzCon: never been, but expertise has taught me always to comply with the 3 W's when touring: water, weight, and walking (comfortably).

Daniel Desmond (@hazmacewillraid) I'll be doing a bit little bit of PTR spelunking, trying out the new dungeons and paladin modifications, however principally I will be scratching a couple of extra tallies into my wall with a plastic spoon, counting the days until Skyrim releases.

As for BlizzCon, this will probably be my first! As such, I'll be sticking to my guildmates like black leather-based seats on a scorching summer season day.

Daniel Whitcomb (@DanielWhitcomb) Since my mage and warrior are on hold until the 4.Three goes live, I could see if I can solo me some extra tier 5 for my warlock. I am also enjoying some Aquaria and Bastion (again) on Steam, so I might do some more with these games.

My recommendation? Hygiene. Specifically, double-, triple-, and quadruple-examine your travel bag. In the event you miss something like a toothbrush or a shaving package, likelihood is you'll should pay an arm and a leg to exchange it.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) Not enjoying anything this weekend, however I'll be watching plenty of StarCraft 2 and League of Legends at IPL3.

Recommendation for BlizzCon? Hmm ... Waiting within the badge choose-up line isn't necessary if you don't need to be the primary one into opening ceremonies. Just decide up your badge whereas everyone seems to be in line for the ceremonies and you will be in and out in 5 minutes.

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) I am still on my honeymoon in NYC, but once i get again I'll most likely start AC: Brotherhood, since my AC2 disc is scratched and I don't think I can end.

Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen) (gplus.to/foxvanallen) I have been in Philly for a solid a part of the week, and I will be staying in Philly all through the weekend hanging with my pal Chester. All sorts of enjoyable will likely be had. Like immediately, I ate Dutch meals. We're a terribly boring individuals, we Dutch.

My BlizzCon recommendation: If you want to hold out with Fox, I counsel you get your request in ahead of time, because there are many of you, very few nights in stunning Southern California, and only one Fox. Additional, I advise anyone who is not from an area with Jack within the Box restaurants to go eat at a Jack in the Field restaurant. Oh my god.

Joe Perez (@Lodurzj) Extra LoL, I have a brand new champion to be taught! Additionally more alt leveling in WoW and really looking ahead to another select my adventure day Sunday; I'll most likely start earlier (3 p.m.) this week and go until 5. I am going to even be livestreaming the adventure, so make certain to look at Twitter for the link and time!

Largest BlizzCon blunder: not wearing comfortable and supportive footwear. Seriously, you stand and stroll a lot that you're a idiot if you don't. Additionally, the quantity of ache your toes will probably be in will be shocking. Additionally, drink / carry plenty of water and attempt to eat outdoors of the convention center. Heaps of excellent local places to nom issues at which are a fast walk from the convention center.

Josh Myers (@Elamqt) I'm liking my army of premade and major-transferred shaman on the PTR. I also have a lone mage premade who was set up with spec/glyphs/keybinds/and so on. and then promptly forgotten.

I don't have any BlizzCon recommendation, although I warning all Wow Insider meetup attendees to keep away from eye contact with Fox. That is just widespread sense, although.

(Excellent point. That is how I select my prey. -- Fox)

Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra) Hoping for some quality time with my DS, but I'm unsure, as I'll be working at my job, doing art, and it is Thanksgiving up right here in Canada-land, so there's that. I'll be heading out of city Sunday night to see my family.

BlizzCon recommendation? Take the well being-verify:

Bring a number of water with you.

Wear comfy sneakers (with insoles if essential). Remember to stretch your lower again every hour or so!

Bring some protein-wealthy snacks with you -- pure meals bars, dry-roasted nuts (like almonds and cashews). Con food is overpriced and stuffed with crap, and it will keep you fuller longer. /well being nerd

Mat McCurley (@gomatgo) (gplus.to/gomatgo) I'm a damaged report. League of Legends and WoW.

Ideas for BlizzCon: carry a bottle of water if you'll be able to, take issues gradual, put on comfortable shoes, and purchase Mat McCurley drinks at the WoW Insider Reader Meetup.

Matt Low (@matticus) In a change of pace, enjoying on my Nintendo DS. Dhaka's Blog Replaying some Final Fantasy VI! My faaaaaavourite Final Fantasy collection -- ever!

Matt Rossi (@matthewrossi) (gplus.to/MatthewWRossi) My hand is totally screwed up now, so unhealthy I do not think I can play much of something. (I am typing this one-finger, hunt-and-peck type).

As for BlizzCon, I've never been.

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) Some Sword of the Stars with some buddies, for (probable) last game earlier than the sequel comes out. We'll send the outdated woman off in type. I am going to also be getting some critical Minecraft time in since my guild's server was down final week. Need to make up for lost time!

This will solely be my second BlizzCon, however the most important factor I picked up last year is to be actually early to anything you want to go to -- panels or whatever. Aside from badge pickup on Thursday night. It is open for hours and badges aren't limited in the same way seats or house is. No need to show up early for that line; go later that night and coast proper via to pickup.

Michael Grey (@writegray) I'll be capturing weddings by most of the marriage, which is at once thrilling and terrifying. I'm not the pro of the team, so I besides to spend a variety of time going "Hurrr ..."
The weekend is the proper time to kick back, loosen up and take pleasure in some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Cannot get sufficient raiding? Rolling a brand new alt? Contemplating taking the leap into roleplaying? No matter your favorite option to play World of Warcraft, let us know within the comments what you are playing this weekend!
