Federico Gutierrez achieved the official candidacy for the center-right party with more than 1.7 million votes. The former mayor of Medellin won Barguil (Char) Penalosa, Barguil (Char) and Tab of Los Cristianos.
Federico Gutierrez is a former mayor of Medellin and was born in the city in 1974. Since 2003, he has been a councilor of the municipal youth and a Municipal Planning Councilor in Medellin. Gutierrez is a licensed Civil Engineer at the University of Medellin. In addition, Gutierrez holds a Specialization in Political Science degrees from the Pontifical Bolivarian University.
Federico Gutierrez did not just be concerned with politics in his professional life. As a council member, Sergio Fajardo was his supporter. Later, Alonso Salazar was his. He made it to the Mayor's Office of Medellin, changing his goal in the year 2015. He was also a victim of corruption, like all the other mayors who were part of the Hidroituango Project. Additionally, in an investigation conducted by Daniel Coronell, he was implicated in the Panama papers for storing his cash in tax havens and for corruption.
He confronted former mayors whom were his supporters. He told them, "I've been in solidarity" with them.
A new contest for the presidency
In the month of October, 2021, the so called Experience coalition was formed that later became known as the Team for Colombia.
