If you are attending an online event that includes videos that are exclusive, don't watch them. Instead, download the video file.
This actually works with any live video that's said to be limited in time and is only for subscribers. However, this has not prevented me from using it. I'm experiencing a very slow and intermittent internet connection in my home. I am using the WiFi hotspot at the motel across the street. Every now and then, I deliver water to their office. Updates to the password occur every few weeks. This allows me to reduce the cost of purchasing my own home Internet. Plus, I don't have cable which means that this will require an additional installation. It's incredible how much work is required to have your own home cable connection. So I skip that and simply use the Internet from the motel.. It lets me remain more discreet. In all the activities I do on the internet, it's recommended that I don't have my street address.


Therefore, if there's an online seminar that is exclusive, like one from my investment advisor or the university that has a visiting lecture with someone famous that's even more. Due to my poor internet connection, I don't have the chance to stream streaming video. When I do download a video to my computer as I will illustrate below, it usually requires 2-3 times the length of the video. As you'll notice that my connection is extremely slow, only 30 percent of what I'd need to watch video smoothly and with no buffering interruptions. This is why I've discovered a gnarly way to circumvent that speed restriction and simply save video online on my laptop, to watch it over and over without the need to stream it over and over again, because my Internet connection can't handle this kind of load...



This is what I have been doing lately. I launch Chrome browser. Firefox. Safari. Or any other browser that has inspect tab. Right click on the page to launch the inspect Page. From there, switch to the network tab and locate the video playlist. Most likely, it will be something with the extension m3u8. The video stream is then broken down into smaller files which your internet browser downloads one at a time and then plays them in the correct order. This will ensure that you get continuous streaming. Although this process is seamless, it requires more data than the size of the file. However, this is how MPEG transport streams are configured.



I then right-click on the playlist and copy the URL address (into an electronic clipboard), then I navigate directly to the website that I would like to download the online video. I input the playlist's URL in the input box, press submit, and am presented with a variety of download options. These are the possible file sizes and the time to transfer. The larger the file, the better quality it is. I will choose a less-quality file, even if it is too slow to my Internet.



I visit the file and set it up as my download. It can take a long time, but the reward of knowledge is always the reason I continue to complete it.
