Texas Holdem poker game is playable with 2 players or up to 10. The button at the table is used to identify the dealer. A small and large blind are placed clockwise around that button. The small blind is roughly half of whatever is decided on in the big blind. In Texas Holdem poker blinds are put in place of Antes for a very good reason. This allows the eight other players at a table to fold their cards free of charge. Two players under the blinds are considered to be in the hand.

Texas hold'em has four betting card poker rounds. Each round involves each player being dealt two cards face up, known as the hole cards. They also receive five community card faces up that all players can use. The player with the best five-card poker hand at showdown wins the pot.

Hands are ranked in order of the number cards they have. A badugi is ranked higher then a 3-card or 2-card hand. Also, a higher-ranked card wins over a lower-ranked hand. If two or more players have the exact same hand, the one with the lowest value wins. Exemple: If hand A consists of 3spade 5, 5heart and 6diamonds (6534) and HandB consists of Aspade 4heart, 2diamonds, 5diamonds (542A), handB wins.

If there is no five-card hand, players can use three of the community cards as their hole cards. Players can also use four cards from the board and one hole card. The blind structure is the next distinction between the Holdem variant of poker and the other poker games.

The flop comes next in the game. The dealer starts by burning one card. This means that he deals it to his discard pile. He then deals three cards to the table face up. These three cards are the flop.

Before you're dealt your three cards, remember these hands, ranked from highest to lowest- Straight Flush, Three of a Kind, Straight, Flush, Pair, or a High Card. The object of this game is to win with a high-hand, containing only three cards.

The dealer button, usually a white chip, is a small button that identifies one player. After each completed hand, it moves clockwise to move the dealer button to the next participant.
