Officially the first pre-release of 1.16.4 is out!
You've likely noticed, if you've been using the Internet for long and you've encounter other users you dislike. To ease some of that frustration we're introducing a UI element called the "social interactions screen" that will let you turn off chatting with certain players, thus hiding any messages they send to you. IQBALIR In addition, the 1.16.4 update will contain some fixes for bugs that are critical, but other than that, this will be the last dot-release for this version.
Please help us out by testing the new UI and notifying any bugs you spot on the bug tracker.

- Opens using a custom key binding, by default "P" - The player's visibility resets when joining a server
Technical Changes in 1.16.4 Pre-release 1
A new scheme for network protocols with high bits (30 bits) for snapshots. The protocol version will increase by 1 for each snapshot, but full releases will have the same protocol version as the previous full release where the protocols of the network are compatible. - More information is now added to the crash log for instances where performance issues cause the server to crash.

Pre-releases are available for Minecraft: Java Edition. To install the pre-release, start up the Minecraft Launcher and turn on snapshots in the "Installations" tab.
