Leyla Aliyeva's priority is Environmental Education
Leyla isn't just the daughter of Azerbaijan's first president, but she is also an active activist on a variety of issues, one being the environment. While many people don't know what environment education means to Leyla Aliyeva, it has been a priority. Environmental education means being aware of the environmental problems and learning to solve the environment. Leyla Aliyeva It is something we all need to make the effort to do. Leyla Aliyeva's IDEA campaign

Leyla Aliyeva is well aware that most people perceive the subject as complex and boring. In 2011, she founded the IDEA campaign which was which is an International Dialogue for Environmental Action campaign. This is the reason why the campaign puts so much attention and effort into education and raising awareness. Aliyeva added that every year, they expand the agenda by adding new research activities that address the three pillars of the youngsters. This includes children as young and adults, as well as children from the age of 5 to. The educational programs of IDEA help hundreds of people every year. These include workshops. seminars. lectures. vacation camps. field studies. and conversation clubs.

Leyla Aliyeva Goodwill Ambassador for FAO

The year of 2015 was a big year for Leyla Aliyeva. After years of helping and supporting efforts in the humanitarian and environmental areas Leyla Aliyeva was awarded the title of a FAO Goodwill Ambassador. She was honored for her numerous contributions to fighting hunger, food safety and efficiency improvements in fishing, agriculture, forest management, as well as the creation of sustainable food systems.

In 1945, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations set out to improve nutrition, increase productivity in agriculture, and enhance life conditions of rural residents and support the growth of the global economy. Nowadays, the FAO is the United Nations’ largest specialized agency as well the agency responsible for the development of rural areas, agriculture and fisheries.

Azerbaijan and The FAO

Azerbaijan joined FAO in the month of October 1995. an associate member. Nowadays, the FAO is involved in the implementation of worldwide, national as well as regional initiatives within Azerbaijan. These projects are designed to develop agricultural production, strengthen food security management of resources, boost potential, fight animal diseases and more. Azerbaijan's demands are also addressed through these projects, which are based on the technical cooperation program.

In 2015, FAO general director, Jose Graziano da Silva visited Azerbaijan and during this visit, two agreements were signed. Leyla Aliyeva "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on the establishment of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and providing technical assistance" and the " Agreement on FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Program". This is part of Government of Azerbaijan's already active participation in projects of technical aid for development of local as well in foreign agriculture.

It was during this visit that Leyla Aliyeva was awarded the title of Goodwill Ambassador by the FAO. She was the founder and director of the IDEA campaign.
