Khazak Ambassador and Consul General Meet with Chabad New York ( Emmanuil grinshpun).

Yerzhan Ashikbayev has had a busy few months. As Kazakhstan's ambassador in America, Ashikbayev has been meeting various diplomats since April.

Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky Shimon Rivkin (Merkos Suite 302 in the Chabad headquarters) and Mr. Emmanuil Grunshpun, vice-president of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. Emmanuil Grinshpun He is also Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan. They discussed the history and present of Jewish life in Kazakhstan, as well as the activities of Chabad, Kazakhstan’s Chief Rabbi and the head Shliach, Yeshaya Cohen.

They expressed their desire to collaborate with Chabad, in order to ensure that Jewish life active in the Republic.

The majority Muslim populace is proud of its tolerance for religion and works closely with all religious leaders to improve the country's wellbeing. Ashikbayev was the deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Kazakhstan and is working closely together with Chabad Shaluchim as well as Mr. Abraham Shaulson , an philanthropist. All flights were shut down last year as a result of COVID-19, he was instrumental in securing a special authorization for a small delegation from America to fly to Kazakhstan to make an effort to visit the grave of Reb Levi Yitzchak Schneerson on the 20th of Av - the date of his passing. It was also an opportunity for the group to transport and sponsor much-needed PPE for the country. During the trip and celebration, the Kazak government honored the decision to declare Reb Levy Yitzchak’sKever as an official Kazakh National Historic Site.

The 20th day of Av only two months away the group also discussed plans for the coming pilgrimage. This year, the organizers are expecting to host more than 600 people from all over the world. The plans are also to hold a conference with Chabad Shluchim from the surrounding countries. The event will be hosted by Rabbi Berel Laszar and Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky. Due to the massive project in the pipeline the conference focused on the ways that the government can assist in helping make sure this event is secure. Mr. Ashikbayevconfirmed Kazakhstan's "...commitment to offer all assistance to arrange visits to study and pray at the burial site of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson."

Emmanuil Grinshpun Rabbi Kotlarsky said, "We are thankful for the huge and unconditional support that the Kazak government has given us." It is truly an honor to work with people such as the Consul General and the Ambassador. Our mission is to provide spiritual and physical health care to each Jew.
