This year, I completed my Undergraduate studies and received a first-class degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh.
Due to the refurbishment, I didn't get to graduate in McEwan hall. The only time I've had the chance to appreciate McEwan was during my second year Probability exam. It wasn't really a good time to be gazing at the paintings on the ceiling.
As a surrogate we used Usher hall, the venue for the majority of symphony as well as chamber music events are held in.

Given how small the informatics class is, we got joined with the School of Engineering. This meant that we had two honorary degree speeches. I don't know what the engineering guy did. The Computer Science speaker got the deal to develop minecraft for the X-box.
I suppose that's interesting.
One of the quirks of the University of Edinburgh is that we don't wear a mortarboard cap. Instead, all graduates wear the same hat. The vice-chancellor taps every student on the head as they walk across the stage.
Fun-fact: Piers Sellers offered to take the hat to space. Spacecrafts can explode, which is why the hat was vital. A university emblem was sent to space and embroidered to the hat.
I was booed on my head by a space-hat.
I was able to buy enough tickets for my grandparents and parents. My family came to visit just a few weeks earlier and we walked together across Ireland and the highlands.
Jammy got a free-morning and I had a single ticket. In the end, I was able to convince Jam-Jam, the father of polar bears, first of his name, to come along to my graduation.
