YouTuber and Minecraft streamer Technoblade has passed away at the age of 23 after a year-long battle with stage four cancer.
The content creator, from San Francisco, who kept his identity closely guarded and only made his name public in his final video, titled "Alex," soared to fame after posting videos of himself playing Minecraft on YouTube back in 2013 - and later getting more than 10 million subscribers.
He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in August. He was able to spend most of the year away from the media undergoing chemotherapy.

Although it's not known what type of cancer Alex was diagnosed with at the time however, he continued to raise funds for sarcoma-related charities and announced in December that he had undergone surgery to remove an arm tumor.
The father of the deceased who is not publicly well-known, shared the devastating news of his son's passing with his many followers in a video posted today to Technoblade's YouTube channel. The video was titled "So long nerds" and included a posthumous message of goodbye from the YouTube star.
In a tweet, he called his son 'the most amazing kid', he also shared an audio recording of his son who said: 'If I had another hundred lives, I believe I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time because those were the most joyful years of my life.'

Technoblade was a very private person who was not known to share his personal details. He mostly uploaded videos about the sandbox game Minecraft.
He had three younger sisters and a brother named Chris as well as a dog named Floof which was in his farewell video alongside his father.
He revealed that his parents divorced and that they lived in the same house as his father who owns an entertainment studio.
After graduating from high school, he took a gap-year before moving to Chicago to learn English.

After leaving after a few days, he returned to San Francisco.
In one of his videos how he started the Tecnoblade channel to gain confidence and get 10 million subscribers.
He quickly built a following of millions and shared with them numerous clips of himself playing Minecraft but he never revealed his name or face to his fans.
He shared the shocking news of his cancer diagnosis in August in a YouTube video called "Where I've Been" that has been viewed over 13 million times.
He said he was diagnosed with cancer after he thought he had a fracture to his arm.

Thinking that it was a strain injury due to his ongoing gaming, he took a few days off - before realizing it was not going away.
