Shrek!, a book by William Steig, who is also the author of several children's book. Shrek! is a humorous fantasy picture book in 1990. Shrek! was also featured in Dreamworks Animation in a series of films. It is about a repugnant green monster who leaves home to see the world and ends up marrying an ugly princess.

I was a big fan of Shrek from DreamWorks, and I sure do love Shrek, but this thing, the book, I haven't enjoyed it much. Shrek was awful in the book, he was a jerk, and this to be a children's book was a bad idea. He was mean without even a little remorse. He would straight up eat anything at all, he even stole someone's donkey, not to mention that he killed a knight for not letting him in.

But even though I haven't liked it that much, I still liked some points of the story. I liked that the author provided Shrek a quite confidence, even though he was "ugly", "hideous", and a "monster", he have that confidence. I loved that Shrek has seen his face and was scared, but then, built his confidence up again. I also liked that Shrek find his love and they lived "horribly" ever after.

It wasn't very fit on my category but I would recommend this to people who likes arrogant main characters. I definitely think this wasn't meant for children, as to why I don't recommend parents to buy this for their child. I don't recommend this overall, but if you love Shrek from DreamWorks you'll to know his origins. 2/5 stars, will not recommend.
