M: I stand for France
M: We have tough weapons and we are the strongest country, WAY better than Spain.
E: When did you get to Florida?
M: We got to Florida in June 1564.
E: How did you build your settlement?
M: We choose a space that we could easily defend our settlement from Spanish. We had guns, gunpowder, and many other weapons to use. First we built a fort, and called it “Fort Caroline”. Fort Caroline was in good position to attack Spanish. Spanish have treasure ships passing by. No one wants to work very hard to build a settlement. American Indians gave food to us. They grew tired of feeding us after awhile.
