Lord Huron Mug Review
The blazing Texas sun might be scorching out but in the bus that was used for tours at Austin City Limits, the vibe was cool and nocturnal. In the cold, chilly air was Ben Schneider, frontman for Lord Huron, a band which has gained acclaim for its dreamy and atmospheric melodic Americana.


Lord Huron are a group that has a unique style of indie folk. Many bands of this genre seem to be either too old or too new. The band from Los Angeles is an act that sounds as if they've been in the same band for generations, and their sound of atmospheric and rustic Americana sounds perfectly at home with Lorde and Alt-J in alternative radio.


Vide Noir is more laid-back than Fleet Foxes' dusty Americana on Lonesome Dreams or Strange Trails. The album is a dark, ominous one, full of end-times predictions, creepy desert towns, and even ominous music. But it's still soothing.
