Our Kingswood Senior School Head, Mr David Wright shared some lockdown reflections as we hit the one week mark of the national COVID-19 lockdown. With lessons set to renew on Wednesday 29 April, our Kingswood Senior School Heads Mrs Tracy van Molendorff and Mr David Wright, shared their Term 2 welcome with all Senior mother and father today. As we start out on this journey we are very mindful of all of the challenges that you just as mother and father of young kids are going through presently. We would actually like to share this burden with you, and never switch more of a burden onto what is already an enormous ask. Mrs Carissa Wilson, our Deputy Head in the Junior School shared a special message with our Junior pupils this morning and we would like to prolong this message to our broader Kingswood community.
It was all about giving everybody a chance to perform after such a very lengthy time. The Summer Term of 2021 is over and while Covid remains, it was heart-warming to see school-life more and more return to normal because the time period went on. On the 14th and 15th of May, ten of our women took part within the Eastern Cape Netball trials that had been held at Hudson Park in East London. Of the ten, five women had been chosen for Eastern Cape teams, and one for the Sarah Baartman district team. While Makhanda may seem far from the lights of South Africa’s larger cities, there are some rather amazing benefits from being the place we're.
