Wearable Fall Detection Devices
The device contains a stretchable LIB that interconnects two flexible battery cells to provide a power supply with regulated operation voltage. Personal Alarms for elderly A triaxial accelerometer and a MCU are sewn into the conductive carbon fabric to capture acceleration data and detect falling movements.

When a fall is detected, the person's monitoring service contacts them through their home speaker to verify that they fell and notify emergency contacts.
1. Apple Watch

Apple has been on the forefront of developing many features for its wearable devices, and one such feature is fall detection. The feature works as an automatic emergency call system that alerts nearby people to a fall and helps first responders locate the wearer.

The feature can be enabled in the Settings app on an iPhone. Once activated, the Apple Watch will tap you on your wrist and sound an alarm to check if you're still alive. If the device detects a significant, hard fall, it will automatically call emergency services in your country. Once the call ends, it will also send a message to pre-designated emergency contacts in your Medical ID with your location information.

The smartwatch also tracks your falls in the Health app on your iPhone. You can see a record of the falls in your Medical ID by tapping on the Health tab in the bottom menu and selecting "Allow Apple Watch to detect falls." The feature is only available on the Series 4 and later models.
2. Bay Alarm Medical

Bay Alarm Medical is one of the best-known medical alert systems in the country. The company offers in-home, mobile, and wearable buttons that work on a landline or over a 4G LTE cellular network. The devices feature two-way communication, GPS location tracking, and the option to add automatic fall detection for extra peace of mind. Many seniors and their families use these devices for protection at home or while on the go. Customers rave about the customer service and say that if there is ever an issue, it gets resolved quickly.

When you push the help button on the device, wall button, or wearable, a trained operator is instantly connected to you. Depending on your situation, they will contact 911 or a friend or family member who can respond to your needs. The system includes a lock box to keep emergency services from having to break down your door to enter if they need to access your home.
3. MyNotifi

MyNotifi is a fall detection device that interfaces directly with the user’s smart phone. This means that it can go anywhere and maintain a continuous fall detection signal. This is important because many of our elderly population desire to inhabit home and mynotifi allows them to do so while staying in close contact with loved ones.

Mynotifi is also a great tool to prevent falls in the first place. It will alert the wearer if it detects that they have been idle for too long, which is often a sign of a potential fall. It will then send a silent alert to their emergency contacts, and provide the wearer’s location to their friends & family.

Another benefit of Mynotifi is that it is much less expensive than most medical alert systems, as it only charges a one time fee and does not have any monthly monitoring fees. It is also HIPAA secured to ensure privacy.
4. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Samsung's latest Galaxy Watch series includes a built-in fall detection tool that will call emergency contacts (not 911) if the wearer doesn't respond to an on-screen prompt or an alert in about 60 seconds. The feature is a bit different than Apple's and only works for hard falls.

Users can enable the feature by opening the Galaxy Wearable app on their phone synced with the watch and tapping on the SOS option. After that, they can select an emergency contact from the list and toggle the "When hard fall detected" setting on.

Galaxy Watch series devices also store important medical information that emergency responders can quickly access, including their blood type, allergies, and current medications. The watch's accelerometer will monitor for a sudden change in movement and notify the user and their emergency contacts. The device also includes a heart rate sensor and GPS. It requires a network connection and a tethered smartphone for Wi-Fi models.
