As billionaires fight it out to take control of the club, the Blues are struggling for form on the pitch. They have won just five Premier League games this season and have a hugely disappointing record at Stamford Bridge, losing three of their last four home matches to Leicester City.
With a host of attacking options leaving, the club is looking to bring in some fresh talent and have been linked with a number of players. Romelu Lukaku has been loaned out to Inter Milan, Hakim Ziyech is rumoured to be joining AC Milan and Timo Werner could also move away by the end of the transfer window.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have now turned their attention to Serge Gnabry after he appeared to be heading to Barcelona. Gnabry is valued at $53 million by Bayern Munich and has just one year left on his contract so he will be free to leave if a deal is reached.

In fact he has now scored 12 times in all competitions this season including three goals in the Champions League and two in the FA Cup.

Earlier this month, the Blues were heavily linked with a move for Napoli and Senegal centre back Kalidou Koulibaly, but negotiations seem to be at an impasse. David Ornstein now reports that talks between Chelsea and the Senegalese defender's agent are continuing and that the club are still close to a deal.
This would be a big upgrade on Mason Mount and Reece James who have both been out with injury since the win against Leicester. The Blues would also like to add a central defender and are currently trying to find someone who will be able to play at a high level.
Another defender that could come into the picture is Dutch defender Nathan Ake. Ake is currently out of favour at his club but he has experience in the Premier League and is a good fit for Thomas Tuchel's system.
It is likely that the Blues will not be able to land him as they are struggling with their budget and it would be a very expensive deal for them. But he is still a very good defender and he would be a welcome addition to the side as he has a great attitude and would be a very experienced player for the club.
He has been out injured for the past two seasons but he is in great shape and has had a terrific career with both Chelsea and the US national team so it would be a very exciting signing if the deal is successful.
