N-methyl-5-(2-aminopropyl)benzofuran (5-MAPB) is a new psychoactive benzofuran made by N-methylating 5-(2-aminopropyl)benzofuran (5-APB), which has the same structure as methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA). According to scientific literature, there has never been a case of 5-MAPB-related toxicities. A white 24-year-old man, who was previously healthy, was exposed to 5-MAPB via his mouth. This was confirmed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. It was observed that symptoms such as paleness, cold, and clammy skin and high blood pressure, elevated high sensitive troponin T levels, tachycardia and diaphoresis, ECG changes, diaphoresis or mild hyperthermia, mild hyperthermia and mydriasis, tremor and hyperreflexia, and treatment using fentanylpropofol, urapidil and external cooling were present.
