Notes

This boy was one of the first that I pulled from the wreckage. I lifted him gently and quickly ran to the ambulance to avoid the onslaught of bombs and missiles. The noise was deafening. I was certain the boy was alive as I could hear his little heart going thump-thump-thump under his cartoon tshirt . I could feel his raw fear and extreme shock. I put the boy into a nearby ambulance and told him to wait for the rest of the boy's family. I quickly pulled another moaning girl out the rubble and sat her in a chair next to the boy. The boy until now had kept quiet and looked like a zombie. I got a message from my friend from one of the only cell towers in Aleppo. I sent him the boy's picture so that the boy can get help by others. I was carefully watching him as the other children around him were screaming and crying , which meant that they were feeling pain , this boy was quiet as a rock. We soon pulled his family out and rushed them to the hospital. That was the
last time I ever saw him again.
A few days I got a message from my friend saying that the family was smuggled out of Aleppo and were now living with their relatives. Sadly the boy's brother died.
