[C]When I was a kid, I had the same mindset as Peter Pan, I never wanted to grow up. Being a adult just seemed like too much work. I understood Peter and his motivations, at the time I didn't agree with Wendy's. I didn't notice it then, but she was the foil to Peter Pan's childlike wonder. Wendy played big sister to her siblings, instead of playing kid, she was right in the middle, ready to transcend at any moment.

She accepted it. The idea of never growing up was the best thing she's ever heard of. She embraced the idea and joyfully went along with Peter on his adventure. But she also had second thoughts, what if she was never going to see her mom again. What if she wanted to go home? What if she wanted to grow up? She was at the first stage of growing up which was denial.

She enjoyed it, everything suddenly seemed magical. There was a rush of adrenaline running through her veins. The idea of growing up was near existent. She felt as though she could be a kid forever in this paradise with no adults. She never wanted to go home.

[C]━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Reality hit. She knew she couldn't stay a kid forever because growing up means you have to be responsible, which was something Peter never was. Peter never wanted the responsibilities of being a adult, and wanted to be free of it. Wendy wanted to stay a kid, but she needed to grow up. She had responsibility, over her siblings, her mom and herself.
