Bermula ketika Harry Potter, serta murid Gryffindor dan Slytherin dalam satu duel club. Yang dipimpin oleh professor ramuan dan sihir hitam. Ketika saat itu adalah pembelajaran sebuah mantra, dan langsung melakukan sebuah praktik.
Harry mendapatkan giliran pertama, dengan lawannya Draco Malfoy dari Slytherin. Pada sesi pertama Harry kalah karena ia kalah cepat dengan Draco, dan Draco sedikit melanggar aturan karena sebelum hitungan selesai, ia sudah melemparkan mantra kepada Harry. Tetapi pada sesi kedua, tiba-tiba saja ada ular yang muncul. Dan tanpa sadar Harry berbicara dengan bahasa Parseltongue, atau bahasa ular. Membuat semua orang kaget, dan mengira Harry adalah pewaris Salazar Slytherin. Yang, disebut-sebut bisa membuka sebuah ruang rahasia.
