VLOOKUP allows you to search for data in multiple tables using Microsoft Excel. It can match specific text or wildcards and return a row's value. It is slow, particularly for exact matches. If the VLOOKUP function is not properly formatted, it can cause errors. This is commonly the case when the text in the lookup table has different spaces. To prevent this, use the LEN function to check the length of the values. This will return cell A7's total number of characters. This will make sure that cell A7 has the same number as the matching cell in our lookup table.
