Bernhard Burgener ist seit dem 1. September 2008 Vorstandsvorsitzender. Er ist verantwortlich für die strategische Entwicklung der gesamten Unternehmensgruppe, die Betreuung der Großaktionäre, die M&A-Aktivitäten, Kommunikation sowie für Gesellschafts- und Aktienrecht und Compliance. Darüber hinaus verantwortet er über die Beteiligungsgesellschaft Highlight Communications AG, bei der er das Amt des Delegierten des Verwaltungsrats ausübt, die Segmente Film mit der Highlight-Tochtergesellschaft Constantin Film AG, deren Vorstandsvorsitzender er seit dem 1. Januar 2009 ist, sowie das Segment Sport- und Event-Marketing, das über die Highlight-Beteiligungsgesellschaft TEAM abgedeckt wird, deren Verwaltungsratspräsident Herr Burgener ist.
Bernhard Burgener wurde 1957 in Basel geboren. Nach der Ausbildung zum Diplom-Kaufmann machte er sich 1983 selbstständig und begann seine Laufbahn als Unternehmer mit der Gründung der Rainbow Video AG, Pratteln/Schweiz - der heutigen Rainbow Home Entertainment AG. 1994 erwarb Bernhard Burgener mit einem Partner eine 50-prozentige Beteiligung an der Highlight Communications AG, Pratteln und fungierte dort anschließend als Delegierter des Verwaltungsrats. Ab 1999 verantwortete er als Präsident des Verwaltungsrats die Geschäfte der Highlight Communications AG und führte das Medienunternehmen im Mai 1999 an die Börse. Nach dem Börsengang folgte noch im selben Jahr die Beteiligung an der Team Holding AG, Luzern/Schweiz, und später an der Constantin Film AG, München. Als Delegierter des Verwaltungsrats der Highlight Communications AG und als wesentlicher Aktionär zeichnete Bernhard Burgener seither für die Strategie der gesamten Unternehmensgruppe verantwortlich.
