North Raleigh venomous zebra cobra hunt is over after glue trap takes care of the problem.
Despite the consultation and preparation by animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was captured on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, a 48-hour incident that generated nationwide interest.

A red bucket was used to place the cobra in the bucket and to transport it to a location where all glue could be removed.

The WRAL cameras captured the striped snake crawling out of the siding of a Sandringham Drive house, onto the front porch. Lifting its head, its hood could be seen.

After confirming it was the snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back before moving in to capture it.

A 911 call from the same location prompted the search early Tuesday morning.

The North Carolina capital is Raleigh. Following a 48-hour saga that garnered attention from across North Carolina, a glue trap eventually entrapped a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, highlighting the nearly 48-hour ordeal across North Carolina.

As the glue was slowly removed from the cobra's body, it was placed into a red bucket and taken to a safe location.

An earlier image captured by WRAL show the snake scrabbling to the front porch of a house on Sandringham Drive, crawling through the siding. When it lifted its head to look around, the top of its hood was visible.

Officers from Animal Control moved the cameras back after confirming that it was the snake, trying to capture it before moving in.

Early Tuesday, a 911 call from that home sparked the search.

My feeling of security has improved, she said. brisbane snake catcher Now that I'm outside, I can go on my deck and have a walk. Even so, I feel kind of sorry for the snake.

There is a striped snake in the yard of a north Raleigh neighborhood where a zebra cobra has gone missing.

Having a snake that can spit up to nine feet long can make even a morning dog walk a frightening experience. It is very dangerous, according to the African Snakebite Institute. The venom can cause the nervous system to shut down.

Cobra poison causes immediate pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. In the next few hours, a heavy fever would occur, as well as respiratory difficulty.

Avian and Exotic Animal Care is owned and operated by veterinarian Salina Locke.

Cobras typically do not bite. They spray their venom more often -- they're very accurate, she said.

According to Locke, this snake is not suitable for keeping as a pet.

In most cases, bites occur when people are sleeping. Health problems can linger for years for people who are bit, according to research.

In the afternoon of Tuesday, police searched a home in 6917 Chamonix Place, near the spot where the cobra was first spotted.

There was an animal issue at that home in March. Approximately half a mile away, they spotted the zebra cobra on a porch, prompting them to return on Monday and Tuesday.

There are records in the county that indicate Keith and Rebecca Gifford reside at that address. In a Facebook profile associated with Keith Gifford's name, there are several pictures of snakes he says his son Christopher owns.

Christopher Gifford has more than 460000 followers on TikTok. The author of the post claims to have a seven-foot zebra cobra.
