I received word at the end of January that I had fallen slightly below the 45% Success Rate necessary for keeping my belt for First Meetings and that I would be given a 6 month review period to give me time to increase my success rate. I then received news at the end of July that I will be losing my belt, because of that review period. I was promised a review period, but I was not granted any time to make a difference. I have not been given the appropriate time to change my success rate in any significant way. The Instructor Review Committee has failed to take into account the Gaba was closed for two and a half of those six months. There have also been nearly no FMs in the studio, and, moreover, I have been given ZERO since Gaba started back up at the beginning of June.

In reality, I have only had one and a half months since receiving the notice to do anything. Even then, that was after Covid-19 hit Japan which greatly decreased the entire company's success rate. I was given an impossible task, and that is unacceptable.

Gaba even said, "Instructors who decide to leave Japan and come back at some point in the foreseeable future would be able to:
Continue to receive offers of contract amendments
Keep their current belt level
Maintain any specialized belts held"

Even though I didn't go home, I have still had the same number of chances to keep my belt as those who have chosen to leave Japan.
