Critique the incident :
firstly , the service desk should invoked the DRP ( disaster recovery plan ) team at the first when the incident hits the main branch at London .not the BCP because it’s a major incident with high priority and all of the branch is down

When the DRP invoked there should be no delay in being at the site and having the right job to do and when there is a disaster no one of the DRP team should be delayed or not attending at the incident , that in the case study , the person who is responsible for the server have get to lunch while there is a disaster and he have to be attended

the backup tapes have to be encrypted and and the key for the encryption have to be with only the authorized person / people , because the backup tapes where not encrypted and this can lead to get them stolen and having this information with unauthorized person


the hardware devices have to be more effective and the new generation hardware and what makes it waterproof to make a better performance when there is a problem , because the problem happened when the short circuit hits one of the motion detection sensors and triggered the intruder alarm


make a policy for the DRP and give it to the right Team and have a good training time to make it effective when there is a disaster , because of that lack of contacting and tracking the problems and provide feed back for them


make a policy for the service desk to make them have the knowledge of their own business roles for incidents and tickets and how to control the events faster and collect the information faster and getting contact with the right persons at the right time without any delay , due to the delay and slowness of having the work done and this gets the problem to bigger one without giving it it’s size


getting a new technology when using a sensors for the water pipes to get notify that if there is a leak or not , because when using this it leads to get the problem smaller than it is and less consequences , and buy some new products like UPS’s that are water proof and can get working in disasters for a long time because the UPS is used last for 30 minutes only
