Animals:

1.) Amazonian manatee
The Amazonian manatee is a large aquatic mammal with smooth skin that can be dark grey or black. Its forelimbs are similar to a seal’s flippers and has a round, flat, horizontal paddle instead of hind limbs. They are classified as endangered and are located at the mouth of the river. 

2.) Red-bellied piranha 
The piranha is one of the deadliest fishes in the world due to their sharp teeth and love for meat. Even though they mostly grow up to 5-10 inches, their strong jaw muscles allow them to bite with a force as much as 30 times their body weight.

3.) Amazon river dolphin
Also called  Boto or Pink dolphin, the Amazon river dolphin is known for its long, filled out body with fins shaped like paddles and a ringe on their backs.  Compared to the other species of river dolphins, the Amazon river dolphin are considered the smartest with a brain capacity 40% larger than humans.

4.) Green anaconda  
The green anaconda is the largest snake in the world. They can weigh up to 550 pounds actually and are olive-green to brown, patterned with circular black markings.

5.) Black caiman 
The black caiman is the largest caiman species in the world and can grow nearly 5-6 meters long. They resemble the american alligator and has skin markings such as grey or brown banding on the lower jaw and white or yellowish bands on the side of the body when they’re adults.

6.) Amazonian tapir
Amazonian tapirs are known as one of the largest mammals found in South America and weigh anywhere between 350 pounds to 600 pounds. They have thick necks, stumpy tails, and large ears.

7.) Giant Otter
The giant otter is a carnivore and is the longest member of the weasel family. They have dense, thick brown fur that is water repellent and can live 12 years in the wild.

8.) Yellow-spotted Amazon river turtle
The yellow-spotted Amazon river turtle has strongly webbed feet and an oval shell that is dark on top and slightly domed. Butterflies often land on their head and eat the salts given off by the turtles.

9.) Three-toed sloth 
A three-toed sloth spends most of their time sleeping and eating. They can rotate their head nearly 90 degrees or more, and has a mouth that makes them appear they’re always smiling 

10.) Capybara
The Capybara is the largest member of the rodent family. If they sense danger, they will dive into the water and hide for 5 minutes. If necessary,  they sleep underwater with only their noses sticking out.

11.) Pirarucu 
The pirarucu is one of the largest freshwater fishes in the world. They can grow up to nearly 10 feet and weigh 485 pounds. Pirarucus also have teeth on their tongues and on the roof of their mouths.

12.) Jaguar
The jaguar is the largest cat in the Americas with its compact body, broad head, and powerful jaws. Their bite is twice as strong as a lion’s and it can crush heavy bones easily.

13.) Ocelot
The ocelot is the largest member of the leopard family and weighs between 17 to 24 pounds. They are nocturnal and the majority of their prey weigh less that 1-3% of its body weight.

14.) Venezuelan red howler
The Venezuelan red howler is a species of New World monkey that has thick reddish-brown fur and a large lower jaw. They sleep for moe than 15 hours per day.

15.) Giant anteater 
The giant anteater is the largest out of 4 anteater species and can be 5 to 7 feet long. They have poor vision but has a keen sense of smell.
